You’re up yet again.
The baby was literally just crying an hour ago.
You got another night of only 4 hours of sleep and you have to do xyz tomorrow.
And then someone tells you that this is the easiest part or that you’re never going to get sleep for the next 18 years. Gee thanks ッ
But I have good news.
There's some things they didn't tell you and you need to hear them.
+ Do you sleep through the night? Everyone sleeps through the night eventually, you're going to be able to get more than 4 hours of sleep one day, I promise.
+ You’re not doing something wrong. It's normal for them to always want you. While you might be frantically googling what to do to get your baby to sleep at night, another mom is wishing she had one more time where the baby woke up and needed her. Trust your instincts and know that you're doing everything right. It will bring you a lot more peace to have that feeling even when your baby won't stop crying.
+ It’s the purest kind of love that you’ll ever know (and to think that Jesus loves us even more is wild). Yes, less sleep is hard, but the connection and love that you have for your baby is unlike anything else. It’s different getting less sleep for that kind of love.
+ As someone that needs her 8 hours of sleep each night…I’ve come to realize that you kind of just function on less sleep, lol. It's strange, I'm tired, but I'm also doing life and functioning like a normal person that gets 8 hours of sleep...I just forget things much more oftenッ
+ You'll miss it. Those quiet moments in the middle of the night with your baby feel long when the sleep is nonexistent, but my goodness the weeks go insanely fast. I'm still up in the middle of the night with my baby and I already miss it. Snuggle that baby a little longer and a little tighter.
Also, can we talk about that patchy hair? It kills me, lol.
Tell me something you would add to this list of things people don't tell you!
Much love,
Brittany
